No Smoking Gun

David Kay, the head of the ISG has asked for more time to search for evidence of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Isn’t that what Hans Blicks asked for before we went to war?

The ISG has spent millions of US dollars and found next to nothing. They have found no weapons of mass destruction but have found some evidence that Iraq wanted to “resucitate” it’s wmd program.

Tony Blair and the Government told us that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. They did not say that Iraq may have them in the future; no, they said that they could be deployed within 45 minutes of the order to fire being given. You therefore have to draw the conclusion that Tony Blair and the Government was wrong when it told us this.

So who is to blame?

There are two choices: Tony Blair and the Government or the British Intelligence agencies. If we believe Tony Blair’s assertion that the Government didn’t “embellish” or “exaggerate” the intelligence reports, then our intelligence organisations should be investigated for incompetence and those responsible for the faulty reports should be fired.

MP3s

Getting a little bored with my current in-car CDs, last night I created a new MP3 CD using MusicMatch. Playing it today, it seems that over half the MP3s have come out unplayable. I now need to determine if it was the ripping process that buggered up or the burning, so that’s what I’ll do tonight.

SWG

Played SWG last night. I’m really getting to like it now. The interface is a bit sluggish, but I assume that’ll improve over time. I really like the waypoints system and the “heads-up” moving map which really make moving throughout the world so much easier. Also, it looks like I’ll be able to play with my friends who play “hardcore” without any detriment to the group which rocks!

Late

Left for work just under 10 minutes later than usual and have just got here :( It’s amazing how much difference a few minutes can make to the journey time!

Whilst travelling, Gordon Brown was interviewed on the Today program. He came across well, but like every other Labour politician at the moment blamed the Government’s unpopularity on anything but the Government’s policies…

ADiary 1.1.1

ADiary 1.1.1 is out! Just a minor update that allows for relative document directories to be stored in the ini file.

I’ve done this so that I can install ADiary on my USB flash disk and so I’ll always have my notes with me wherever I go. (I keep my USB disk on my keyring). However, when I plug the disk into a computer, I don’t know what drive letter it’ll be assigned which is why I wanted relative paths, so now ADiary find it’s own documents :)

Personal Work

After quite a long hiatus, I’m back doing personal programming for the sites I run. I’ve done some minor stuff over the last few months, but nothing big. Mostly it’s been bug fixing and a new style sheet for the-allens.net. On the other hand, I’ve done quite a lot online gaming recently :)

I’ve got two or three things I want to get done in the near future:

  • New character list system for SWG britlore.co.uk characters.
  • Fix the Naming Ceremony pages on the-allens.net to fit the current site style.
  • Bug fix ADiary so that I can use it on a USB flash disk.

I’ve also got a freelance paid project coming up that will be a nice bit of pocket money, but requires me to write a whole new webapplication. The toughest bit so far has been thinking of a name, but with Georgina and Sylvia’s help, I’ve now got three possibilities to consider :)
